MATULESSY
I am Maya Matulessy, a professional photographer based in the Netherlands.
I entered photography with no experience, guided only by my father’s belief that I had an eye for things. Through it, I discovered the silent language of images—telling stories without words and creating even before everything was clear.
In the embrace of my family, where love and support comes with harsh jokes, I shaped my sight.
Studying interior consultancy in Utrecht refined my sense of color, contrast and form, which now flows into my photography.
My work spans several genres and often focuses on storytelling and cultural identity.

Katong maluku festival has invited me to exhibit a photo project at the first edition of their festival.
For this, I started a project called Bersenandung.

I was approached by Papua Magazine
to photograph seven portraits
for seven different editions of the magazine.
